This workshop introduces basic measurement uncertainty and traceability concepts. The concepts taught are then put in practice by developing sample measurement uncertainty budgets. Attendees are encouraged to work their sample uncertainty budgets with instructor input. Hands-on development of the uncertainty budget helps in the comprehension process. Excel spreadsheets are utilized for developing measurement uncertainty budgets.

This 2-day workshop is divided into 1 day of instruction and 1 day hands-on development of typical measurement uncertainty budgets.

WPT3002 SPC and Excel for Metrology Applications (2 days)

Instructor: Dilip Shah

Statistical Process Control techniques for Metrology Applications is taught using the Excel spreadsheet. Many useful Excel functions are introduced so they can be implemented in the laboratory for ISO/IEC 17025/ANSI Z540.3 compliance. Many useful good practices are shared for time saving and preventive measures.

WPT3003 Basic Math and Statistics for Metrology Technicians (2 days)

This workshop refreshes basic math and statistics skills for technicians. The skills learnt help a technician determine correct specifications to compare against measurement uncertainty, assist in developing measurement uncertainty. Excel spreadsheet is used to demonstrate mathematical and statistical functions.

WPT3004 ISO 17025 Compliance and Auditing Techniques Including ANSI Z540.3 Req's (3 days)

Instructor: Dilip Shah

This workshop covers the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025 standard for implementation and for auditing. It is applicable to laboratory personnel that are accredited or those that are seeking laboratory accreditation in the near future. All aspects of the standard are covered for either testing or calibration laboratories. Many real life examples are covered for in depth comprehension. Special topics related to ANSI Z540.3 requirements that are different from ISO 17025 are covered.

WPT3007 CAPA and Root Cause Analysis (2 days)

The workshop is designed to be interactive with hands-on participation by attendees. Attendees leave the workshop with tools that they can implement immediately in their organization. Metrology and calibration related case study examples are covered using ISO/IEC 17025 standard as a model.
